The session began with the addition of new charges against the accused, including alleged incitement activities. The prosecution team completed its examination-in-chief, giving way for the defense lawyers to begin their cross-examination.

However, the defense team asked for more time to access and study copies of the evidence before questioning the lead investigator. The prosecution objected to this request, saying no law allows such an extension.

The lead investigator’s evidence included details of financial transfers, communications with militia commanders, intelligence reports on troop movements, and the formation of local groups allegedly used to mobilize for attacks.

After a long and heated argument between the two sides, Presiding Judge Dr. James Alala Deng said the court would give a ruling on Friday, October 24, 2025, and adjourned the session at around 11:00 a.m.

Other issues expected to be heard on Friday include: The prosecution’s request to try 13 suspects in absentia, and The defense team’s appeal for special medical care and basic necessities for the accused, several of whom are reported to be ill.
